The Plaza Bolivar with the statue of Bolivar occupying its centre is the cultural, historical and social centre in the beautiful Caracas City. Although, it is not a museum in fact, but this place is an open-air museum including in addition to the statue of the liberator, scenery atmosphere, some different kinds of activities and other beautiful scenes.
It lies in Simon Bolivar Centre in El Silencio District, at the end between Calle Sucre and Calle Paez. The Plaza is very near from the Congress in Caracas and Metro Capitolio.
Shaded by trees and surrounded by 30-story towers, the plaza is a busy centre and is full of live, political and other activities. The work in the statue of Simon Bolivar or Estatua El Libertador began in Europe in 1874. A ship carried the statue to Caracas into pieces, where they assembled and erected it in 1983.
The Museo Sacro de Caracas is one of beautiful museums of Caracas. It is at the eastern side of La Plaza Bolivar. The first time the museum launched was on 1992 in a restored colonial building from the year 1884 beside the cathedral.

The Museo Caracas is one of the beautiful museums of Caracas. It is on the ground floor of the Concejo Municipal. It features items about the history of the City of Caracas and exhibits historical paintings, some models of the centre of the city during the 19th century until the 20th century and a collection of dioramas featuring that period, created by the Venezuelan artist Raul Santana.

Before the Museo de Arte Colonial started, the ministry of education organized an art exhibition of this kind of art in the fine art museum in 1939. Then the association of the colonial art's friends established on 28 October 1942 to take care of this mission and started the Institution and the Museum of the Colonial Art.
The Venezuelan artist Alfredo Emilio Boggio founded the museum of the colonial arts and the Minister of Finance in the government of President Isaias Medina Angarita fundraised it in that year.
Some beautiful gardens surround the area where the Museum of the Colonial Art lies. The museum exhibits in addition to selected artworks some works of Venezuelan furniture during that time.
El Museo de Arte Contemporaneo is one of the beautiful museums of Caracas. It lies at the eastern edge of the complex of Parque Central and below the corner of Avenida Bolivar or Avenue Bolivar.
It started by the Foundation of Simon Bolivar Centre in 1973-74 and since that date the museum organizes arts exhibitions for local Venezuelan artists and international artists as well.
By now, it has 16 halls full of artworks by prominent Venezuelan artists as well as international artists such as the Spanish painter Pablo Picasso, known for the Guernica, Cubism and the Sleeping Gypsy, in addition to Claude Monet, Edouard Manet, Henri Matisse, Marc Chagall and Joan Miro.
Picasso has a collection of hundred artworks in Caracas Museo de Arte Contemporaneo covering the period between 1931 and 1934.
Therefore, many people consider the Museum of Contemporary Art of Caracas is the most important cultural centre not only in the beautiful city of Caracas in Venezuela, but also in the entire South America.
The Museo de los Ninos... beleive it or not, when the first time I read about this museum by this name, I immediately recognized that it is the Children's Museum of Caracas. It is one of the beautiful museums of Caracas. It is above the Hospital de Ninos, between Avenida El Lago and Avenida Vollmer and at the western end of the Parque Central Complex. Alicia Pietri de Caldera founded the museum as a nonprofit foundation in 1982.
The goal of the museum is to teach children less than 14 years of age cultures, arts, science and simple technologies. Children enjoy full days of fun while learning new capabilities.
People consider the Museo de los Ninos as the best centre of science and technology for children in Caracas. It is the best destination for families on the weekends and is very busy. Adults could also enjoy much of fun as kids here.
Museo de Bellas Artes is one of the beautiful museums of Caracas. It is in the Distrito Capital, at the west of Parque Los Caobos, above Teatro Teresa, across the street at the northeast from Parque Central and adjacent to the Galeria de Arte Nacional. The museum started in the year 1917.

It occupies since many year a branch of a modern six-floor building. Carlos Raul Villanueva, the Venezuelan architect designed the museum. The museum of Bellas Arts holds temporary arts exhibitions and it has a shop to sell arts.
Museo de Ciencias Naturales or the Caracas Museum of Natural Sciences is one of the beautiful museums of Caracas. It is below the Avenida Libertador, at the back of Ateneo de Caracas and the Complejo Cultural. It is almost between the Museo de Bellas Artes and Teatro Teresa at the east of Ateneo de Caracas.
It is a branch of the Society of Physical and Natural Sciences of Caracas. It displays since the first launch in 24 July 1940 the history of evolution through fossils, minerals, stuffed animals and other artefacts of old communities in Venezuela and Latin America in addition to some temporary exhibitions the museum organizes.
