Beautiful Gavrio Town is the main port in the western coast of beautiful Andros Island and is surrounded by some beautiful Andros beaches.
It is about 32.2 kilometres from Chora (Andros) and it takes 47 minutes drive to get there. The town is also about 7.3 kilometres from Batsi and the way to it takes 14 minutes drive.
The bay in the city is almost a circle that opens on the Aegean Sea with a tight width.
The bus station, the post office, the port police and the bank that offers out of day-hours work through cash machines services (ATM) are just few metres from the ferry quay that situated at the middle of the waterfront.

Beautiful Andros Town (Chora) or (Hora) is the capital town of the beautiful Andros Island. It is on the eastern coast and it has some 1508 inhabitants.
The capital city of Andros is 32.2 kilometres far from the beautiful Gavrio Town and it takes 47 minutes drive from there. It is 23.9 kilometres far from the beautiful Batsi Town and it takes 34 minutes drive.
Along the narrow and rocky peninsula, the town spreads on beautiful charming scene, reflecting evidences of the ancient civilization in the Byzantine remains and medieval times remains (5th century-15th century) of the Venetian neoclassical mansions and the Ottoman's remains.
All this is reflecting through the modern cultural prestige in the Contemporary Art Museum (Museum of Modern Art) or the Goulandris Museum and through the medieval prestige in the Archaeological Museum.

The bus station is on Plateia Goulandri at the entrance of the town of Andros. The National Bank of Greece and the Alpha Bank are down the main street and they provide ATM services. The old harbour of Plakoura and Nimborio Beach are few kilometres from the town.
The central square is down on the main street and Plateia Kairi is full of cafés and tavernas shaded by trees. The Archaeological Museum is viewable from this square.
There is a bronze statue in the big square, Plareia Riva. Marbles pave the squares in the town and the Vernacular Cycladic houses are covering some areas.
Beautiful Batsi Town is about 8 kilometres from the Beautiful Gavrio Town and it takes 14 minutes to get to it from there by bus. It is the main charm and beautiful resort in the beautiful Andros Island.
The town is on the curve of a beautiful bay on the Aegean Sea with mulberry trees colouring the waters and a fishing harbour on one side of the bay and a beautiful beach on the other. See beautiful Andros beaches here.
There's small post office beside the tavernas and opposite of the bus station. The National Bank and the Alpha Bank are on the middle way of the waterfront and they offer out of day-hours work additional services through automatic banking machines.
Other information about ferries, car rentals, beautiful sights and accommodations is available at some travel agencies such as Andros Travel on the opposite direction of the bus station and Greek Sun Holidays on the end of the waterfront.
Beautiful Paleopolis Town lies at the south of the beautiful Batsi and is about 9 kilometres far from it on the coast. The Greek have built the ancient capital of the island on this place on the steep of the hillside.
The three sights to see are the ruins of Palaeopolis on the coast, where people can see the harbour breakwater there underwater, the temple of Dionysus and the Archaeological Museum of Paleopolis that established in 2005.
Beautiful Ormos Korthiou Town on the eastern coast south of Andros Town is 26.1 kilometres far from it and the road that turns in almost a circle down, left, up and right takes 37 minutes.
It runs down to Korthio and Aipatia, up to Morakaioi, Kapparia and Zaganiaris and up again and to the right to Pitrofos, Aladino and up right to Mesaria and Andros.
Ormos Korthiou Town is also 36.7 kilometres far from Gavrio and it takes 53 minutes drive to get there.
Beautiful Aladino Town, almost a little way down the centre of the island is 4.7 kilometres far from Andros Town and it takes 7 minutes drive. It is 27.5 kilometres far from Gavrio Town in Ydroussa and it takes 40 minutes drive.
As for the distance from Batsi in Ydroussa, it is 19.3 kilometres and it takes 27 minutes. The same road, Batsiou-Androu road connects Andros with Gavrio and runs through Aladinon and Batsi, so you can get from the bus to Gavrio at Batsi.
The distances are less than these mentioned here and they seem long because the Batsiou-Androu road runs up and down and left and right many times in this mountainous area.
Almost in the middle of the way, Aladino is 21.4 kilometres far from Ormos Korthio at the southeast of it and on the eastern coast.
Beautiful Apoikia Town is in Andros Municipality. It is famous for its Sariza spring from which the water comes out of a lion’s head. The town is on a mountainous area called Vasilikon Mountain. It has few populations of less than 300.
