Triund Dhauladhar

I was in Dharamsala November,12 2011 and was looking for trekking spots nearby, and in Google found a hill about 10km from Mcleodganj in Dharamsala, people call it Triund Hill.

Triund Hill a beautiful and moderate trek site at the foothills of mighty Dhauladhar Mountains of Himalayan ranges of Northern India. As I was travelling alone had less time to devote in India, decided to trek only up to Triund.

I was reluctant to hire a guide for this trek as a website dedicated to this hill www.triundhill.com claimed the trek of moderate category, so I browsed the site and found the complete information like how to reach Triund and where to stay sort.

Finally I started off alone on Nov15th early in the morning and followed the route mentioned in www.triundhill.com/route . The trek is amazing and at one point the formation of trees makes it looks as if you are entering another domain within this World.

A climb of 3 hour and I was in Triund. The view up there is beautiful as Triund is overlooked by Dhauladhar awesome and below you have a wide view of whole Dharamsala.

I lied down there on grass for a while and had a cup of tea from a makeshift shop. The views are just amazing with peaceful surroundings.

After resting there for another 4 hours I decided to climb down to reach my hotel in Mcleodganj, I wanted to stay up but had to catch a return flight to home from Delhi airport. But next time I'll stay up there for at least three days. This part of India just so impressive with the Nature offering so much, felt like being in heaven.
